Earlier, Shweta Srivastava, Secretary, WICCI Nigeria-India Business Council, said,

“I am glad to be part of this. It is time to explore the power of global networking to strengthen our businesses and learn from one another. I encourage everyone to be there.”

Furthermore, Nigerian Filmmaker & HeforShe Advocate, Ike Nnaebue who is also the G100 Nigeria Denim Partner for Media Arts & Communication added in his speech,

"We are at a crossroads where we are questioning a lot of things, like our systems and our ways of doing things. We are at a point now where we know that it is very important to usher in a different way of doing things and that new way of doing things would have to do a lot with sharing and understanding the power of The Collective and its amazing that women are the ones who are actually in the forefront of this, pulling everybody together and trying to bring us round to an understanding of the importance of working together. I strongly believe that the New World will be about collaborations, it will be about men and women working together. I'm totally excited to be a part of this"

Noela Ugwu, G100 Nigeria Country Chair for Intercultural Dialogue, noted that the forum was of great importance in view of the fact that a lot of women had been noticed to be marginalised in trying to contribute to societal growth.

She said it was time to harness the endowments of women to bring about further growth in the society.

Dr. Carolyna Hutchings speaking at the WEF West Africa Press Conference

Dr Carolyna Hutchings, Vice President, WICCI Nigeria-India Business Council and Global Advisory Council Member for G100 Media Arts & Communication, said she believes that WEF is not a platform for women to come together to plot how to kick men off, but a platform for women and men to work together to achieve common goals.

“We are here to collaborate not to compete,” she said.
